Ikutilah Lomba Fotonovela StoS 2010
StoS Film Festival ingin membuat Fotonovela menjadi media penghubung, mengkomunikasikan apa masalah lingkungan dan bagaimana kita peduli.
Kali ini Fotonovela yang dilombakan dalam bentuk tayangan powerpoint slide. Maksimal durasi penayangan 7 menit untuk seluruh slide, dan maksimal 20 detik untuk setiap satu slide. Naskah akan dikirim dalam bentuk Power Point (*.ppt atau *.pps).
Caranya ikut?
Kirim karya Fotonovelamu dalam bentuk CD atau DVD. Lengkapi dengan nama, nomor KTP/SIM, tempat tanggal lahir, nomor kontak, email, dan alamat lengkap. Kirim dalam amplop tertutup paling lambat 31 Oktober 2009, cap pos. Tulis dipojok kiri atas amplop : FOTONOVELA STOS 2010, kirim ke alamat berikut:

Tema ini bisa mengekpresikan apa saja disekeliling kamu, yang bercerita tentang kondisi lingkungan, dari pangkal penyebab perusakan lingkungan, dampaknya, serta apa kaitannya dengan kita. Dan bagaimana kita peduli. Misalnya, tentang darimana kertas berasal, dibuat, dipakai, dan kemana limbahnya dibuang.
Selain itu bisa juga terkait apa saja disekeliling kita, yang bercerita tentang kepedulian terhadap lingkungan.
Syaratnya, cerita fotonovela harus faktual (bukan fiksi). Bisa jadi cerita warga yang bersepakat menjaga hutannya dari penebangan kayu, pembukaan kebun sawit skala besar atau penggalian bahan tambang yang merusak. Atau kisah pemulung yang inspiratif. Bisa juga cerita rekan anda yang mengganti penggunaan transportasi untuk ke kantor. Dan masih banyak lagi.

[Asia] ADB Student Essay Competition on Asia`s Future
ADB today called on the young voices of Asia to participate in an essay competition on the topic, "Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific."
The competition, organized by ADB and ROAD, a network of Japanese university students concerned about development issues, is part of an event that will precede ADB`s 40th Annual Meeting, to be held in Kyoto, Japan, in May 2007.
"Young people in Asia and the Pacific need to be fully engaged in order to effectively address the long-term development challenges confronting the region," said Bindu N. Lohani, Director General of ADB`s Regional and Sustainable Development Department. "The competition provides an opportunity to publicize the vision of today`s youth for the future world in which they will live, work, and govern."
English-language essays of up to 2,000 words are invited from university students aged 18-29 years who are citizens of ADB`s developing member countries, as well as Japanese students at Japanese universities.
The essays - written from a country or regional perspective - should address one of three specific topics:
economic growth and environmental conservation;
human resource development and institutions; or
industry and infrastructure.
Three development experts will judge the essays on the basis of originality and creativity of thought, structure and coherence of arguments, awareness of sustainable development within the context of the essayist`s environment and realities, and relevance to the competition` s themes.
Fifteen winners will be selected from across ADB`s five regional departments - Central and West Asia, East Asia, the Pacific, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. An additional ten winners will be chosen from among students at Japanese universities, including seven from developing member country students and three Japanese citizens.
All 25 winners will be invited to actively participate in the week-long Asian and Pacific Youth Forum on Sustainable Development in Kyoto in March 2007. The Forum will provide them the chance to deliberate on sustainable development issues. The event will conclude with adoption of a Youth Statement on Sustainable Development, which will be presented at ADB`s 40th Annual Meeting. In addition, the winning essays will be assembled and published in a book.
Essays must be submitted online. Those without access to the Internet can submit their essays to the nearest ADB field office. Deadline for entries is 31 October 2006.
The competition is being financed by the Japan Special Fund, which was established in coordination with the Government of Japan to provide financial support for ADB`s technical assistance programs, and is administered by ADB.

Charlottesville, Va. – September 16, 2009: Blue Ridge Numerics, creators of CFdesign upfront CFD software, today announced the launch of its 2009-2010 Collegiate Competition Sponsorship Program. With the introduction of the program, the Company underscores its ongoing commitment to the academic community and the next generation of engineers by providing free licenses of CFdesign software to student teams in selected competitions. The Company has been a sponsor of the Formula SAE competition for the past few years and this year has decided to expand its support to include 6 additional competitions. Using CFdesign software, student teams are able to create multi-scenario fluid flow and heat transfer design studies as a part of their CAD-driven design process. Teams working on creating a hybrid vehicle, for example, can leverage CFdesign to optimize airflow through an engine intake design or create a cooling system for a lithium ion (Li-Ion) battery pack (as in the example from Penn State below). For teams working on a solar design, CFdesign can be used to simulate both heat transfer within a solar panel and wind loading on the panel. Upfront CFD can help students optimize their designs quickly and easily and enable them to look at options they may not have thought of before.
“The Penn State Advanced Vehicle Technology Team sought out CFdesign to design and simulate an effective cooling network for a Li-ion battery pack to be included in our EcoCar vehicle design,” said Shawn Getty, Penn State AVT Team Member. “Using CFdesign, our team was able to easily simulate the heat generation cycles of the battery pack to analyze and improve the design of the cooling system. This helped us to ensure peak battery performance throughout the life of the vehicle.”

Egypt held a competition to guess the age of a mummy. France, Germany and the U.S. sent archaeologists. Indonesia sent a military officer. The French team spent two hours with the mummy, then gave up. The Americans spent longer, but their guess was wrong. The German team estimated 3,200 years–also wrong. The Indonesian military officer asked if he could study the mummy in a closed room. Fifteen minutes later he emerged and said the mummy was 5,224 years, three months and seven days old. The jury was amazed–he was exactly right and won the prize. As he was leaving the Cairo airport, journalists asked him how he got the answer. “I hit him black and blue until he confessed.”

Innovation in Indigenous Chemical Product for a Better Earth
Perkembangan teknologi dan ilmu pengetahuan sekarang berkembang dengan kecepatan yang luar biasa. Berbagai inovasi-inovasi dalam berbagai bidang keilmuan, tidak terkecuali teknik kimia, bermunculan setiap hari meninggalkan teknologi yang lama jauh di belakang. Dengan demikian, sumber daya manusia juga dituntut untuk mengikuti inovasi-inovasi ini agar dapat bersaing di era globalisasi sekarang ini.
Meningkatnya daya saing antar bangsa secara tidak langsung juga memajukan bangsa kita. Untuk menjadi bangsa yang besar dan maju, diperlukan sebuah kemampuan untuk berinovasi dan berkreasi. Kita perlu mendidik tunas-tunas bangsa untuk mampu berkreasi dan berinovasi agar mampu bersaing dengan bangsa lain. Oleh sebab itu, Departemen Teknik Kimia Universitas Indonesia dengan bangga mengadakan Chemical Product Design Competition kedua, yaitu Chemical Product Design Competition (CPDC) 2010 dengan tema “Innovation in Indigenous Chemical Product for a Better Earth”. Dalam konteks ini, CPDC juga turut ambil peran dengan membekali anak-anak bangsa dalam berinovasi dan berkreasi dalam produk kimia, sehingga mereka dapat survive, bahkan bersaing dalam dunia kerja bidang chemical yang dewasa ini semakin ketat.
Lomba ini ditujukan untuk seluruh universitas di Indonesia, tanpa dibatasi oleh fakultas atau kejuruan. Dalam lomba ini ingin ditekankan kemampuan mahasiswa untuk menciptakan ide-ide baru sesuai dengan batasan-batasan yang diberikan. Dalam hal ini berhubungan dengan ke-kimia-an. Diharapkan dengan lomba ini muncul berbagai ide-ide baru yang inovatif yang mampu bersaing dengan teknologi dan inovasi dari luar negeri.
Chemical Product Design Competition juga bisa manjadi ajang bagi perusahaan-perusahaan untuk memperoleh akses kepada mahasiswa-mahasiswa yang memiliki potensi besar dalam dunia kerja, terutama bibit-bibit unggul yang belum mengorbit dalam dunia kerja. Selain itu CPDC ini juga bisa menjadi sarana bagi perusahaan-perusahaan dalam menyalurkan Company Social Responsibility-nya (CSR) terutama dalam bidang akademis, yaitu berupa pembagian pengetahuan teknis (technical knowledge) seputar bidang kerjanya.

Chemical Product Design Competition (CPDC) 2010 adalah sebuah kompetisi perancangan desain dan ide produk kimia, dimana kontestan dituntut untuk mengembangkan kreativitas dalam mendesain konsep produk-produk kimia masing-masing.
Rancangan desain produk kimia yang diikutsertakan dalam CPDC akan melalui 3 tahap seleksi dimana pada tiap tahapan tersebut rancangan desain produk kimia akan dinilai oleh juri-juri yang berkompetensi tinggi dari perusahaan-perusahaan seputar produk kimia. Bagi kelompok yang lolos ke babak ketiga (penjurian akhir), diharuskan untuk membawa rancangan produknya baik dalam wujud prototype (barang jadi) atau dalam wujud rancangan visual.

kalau tidak ada rintangan, di tahun 2010 (tanggal dan bulannya masih dikoordinasikan) HMS SPORT berencana untuk membuat suatu kegiatan untuk menjembatani kebutuhan Judoka dan grapling mania. namanya belum pasti tapi untuk tempat saya sudah mendapat lampu hijau dari pihak Universitas Trisakti, Toray Judo Hall dan Melati mas Sport Center (Mantab ada pilihan 3 tempat, Tapi lebih enak di Trisakti kali ya..Ibukota dekat kemana-mana). 2010 Underwater Image & Video Competitions:
Our World Underwater and DEEP Indonesia
The unique competition series of Our World Underwater and DEEP Indonesia celebrates their five year anniversary this year with over $80,000 in prizes. Together, they are one of the largest and most prestigious international underwater photography and video competition series becoming known as the “Superbowl” of International Underwater Image & Video Competitions. The competition series was founded by professional underwater photographers Jason Heller & Eric Cheng and hosted by popular websites DivePhotoGuide.com and Wetpixel.com.
At the Our World Underwater 2010 competiton, photographers & videographers will compete in seven still-image categories and two video categories to win more than $45,000 in prizes. Winning images will be published by supporting print and online media partners worldwide. Winning videos will be broadcast on the Underwater Channel, and Divefilm.com will be podcasting the winning videos as episodes of the iTunes-featured DiveFilm Podcast Video and DiveFilm High Definition Podcast Video. REGULASI POS INDONESIA PHOTO CONTEST 2009
Lomba foto terbuka untuk masyarakat umum di seluruh Indonesia.
Jumlah foto yang dikirimkan oleh masing-masing peserta bebas dengan ukuran sisi terpanjang minimal 25 cm dan maksimal 30 cm dan sisi pendeknya mengikuti komposisi yang dipilih oleh masing-masing pemotret.
Warna foto bebas & olah digital diperbolehkan kecuali menambah atau mengurangi unsur gambar dalam sebuah foto.
Foto dikirimkan beserta soft copy dalam bentuk cd (low res) dan dibalik fotonya ditempel kertas yang berisi keterangan tentang: judul foto, deskripsi foto, nama, alamat lengkap, nomor telepon & alamat email.
Seluruh foto yang masuk menjadi dokumen PT Pos Indonesia. Hak cipta foto tetap menjadi milik fotografer. Foto pemenang lomba dapat digunakan oleh PT Pos Indonesia untuk kepentingan promosi dan publikasi.
Peserta yang menjadi pemenang lomba foto wajib menyerahkan surat pernyataan fotografer/pemotret mengenai pertanggung-jawaban hasil karya foto.
Para pemenang lomba foto wajib menyerahkan hasil karyanya dalam bentuk CD (file Hi-Res) sebelum penyerahan hadiah.
Keputusan Dewan Juri mutlak, sah & tidak dapat diganggu gugat.
Karya peserta dikirimkan kedalam amplop tertutup dan dibelakang amplop wajib dicantumkan nama, alamat, nomor hp & email untuk kepentingan konfirmasi penerimaan kepada peserta. Pengiriman foto wajib melalui Jasa Layanan Pos Indonesia yang ditujukan kepada

JF Original Furoshiki Design II
FUROSHIKI (kain pembungkus)
Kirimkan desainmu dan ikuti pertukaran Budaya Internasional
Pada tahun 2008 JF menyelenggarakan lomba desain furoshiki yang diikuti oleh para siswa seluruh Jepang. Lomba ini menghasilkan 3 desain yang telah diproduksi dan dijual pada Yokohama Triennale 2008, museum shops di Tokyo dan beberapa tempat lain yang mengundang antusiasme masyarakat di Jepang.
Kali ini JF kembali ingin menyelenggarakan lomba sejenis yang dapat diikuti siswa di universitas maupun sekolah desain di luar negeri, termasuk di Indonesia. JF berharap budaya furoshiki ini dapat membantu masyarakat di luar negeri mengenal keindahan dan kegunaan barang keseharian masyarakat Jepang ini.
Furoshiki yang telah diproduksi akan diberikan kepada kalangan VIP internasional,selebritis para stakeholder dll. Karya ini juga kelak dijual di JF shops dan tempat khusus lainnya. Hasil dari penjualannya akan digunakan untuk proyek-proyek pertukaran budaya Internasional yang ditangani oleh JF.
FUROSHIKI adalah kain pembungkus/ pembuntal yang digunakan di Jepang sejak ratusan tahun lalu. Ada pula teori yang mengatakan bahwa kebiasaan menggunakan kain pembuntal ini sudah dimulai sejak zaman Muromachi ketika Shogun Yoshimitsu Ashikaga membangun ooyudono (rumah mandi yang luas) untuk menjamu para petinggi. Para petinggi biasanya membungkus pakaian mereka dengan furoshiki yang juga bisa berfungsi sebagai tilam alas saat berganti pakaian. Kebiasaan ini terus dilanjutkan oleh masyarakat luas, terutama ketika ruang pemandian umum dibudayakan. Belakangan ini setelah masalah lingkungan muncul, furoshiki pun kembali menarik perhatian karena fungsinya yang bisa digunakan berulang kali.
Judul Lomba : JF Original Furoshiki Design II
Tema Desain : Desain merupakan perpaduan Jepang dan daerah asal desainer.

Peserta harus mengirimkan 3 kopi dalam bentuk hasil cetak A4 (print out berwarna yang akan digunakan sebagai dasar proses pewarnaan )
Peserta juga harus mengirimkan 1 CD-R berisi Adobe Illustrator.
Pemenang akan memperoleh hadiah JPY 30,000 (termasuk pembayaran hak cipta)

1. KATEGORI PESERTA : Kompetisi ini terbagi menjadi 3 Kategori, sbb:

2. Foto yang dikirimkan adalah hasil karya sendiri, bukan hasil rekayasa dan reproduksi.
3. BATAS AKHIR PENGIRIMAN : Batas akhir pengiriman foto dilakukan pada 30 Oktober 2009, pukul 23:00 WIB.
4. PERIODE PENGAMBILAN FOTO : Foto yang diikutsertakan dalam lomba harus diambil dalam periode waktu 1 Juli 2008 – 10 Oktober 2009.
5. JUMLAH FOTO : Setiap peserta berhak mengirimkan maksimal 5 foto.
6. FORMAT FOTO : Foto yang dikirimkan wajib mengikuti format yang telah ditetapkan sbb:
a. Sisi terpanjang minimal 1024 pixel
b. Resolusi minimal 72 dpi
c. Save file dalam format JPG (Compression 10)
7. EDITING FOTO : Editing foto hanya di perbolehkan sebatas Basic Editing (dalam photoshop brightness/contrast, levels, hue/saturation, Cropping tidak diijinkan lebih dari 30% foto asli)
8. PENAMAAN FILE : Penamaan file wajib mengikuti aturan penamaan sbb:
